The midterm elections will likely hinge on the economy, and that's good news for Republicans. How do I know that? Democrats have hardly uttered a word about the economy since the price of eggs and gas dropped like a stone last year. If the economy was a disaster, Democrats would be hammering that issue 24/7.
Instead, Democrats are opting to hop on the Crazy Train, doubling down on the woke social agenda, which is unpopular with the majority of voters. Perhaps this is their new campaign strategy, and it seems to be working to some degree, because Republican pollsters are reporting that voters simply do not believe that the unhinged policies Democrats profess are real.

Benson is responding to a post by Megan McArdle, who noted that the New York Times' Jamelle Bouie said that "gender affirming surgeries" on minors never happened.

It's absolutely insane to deny that "gender-affirming care" for minors never happened when the American Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and others have now implemented policies about not performing such surgeries until individuals are 19 years old.

Of course, we have a word for what Bouie is doing: gaslighting. It's not just lying; it's making people think the things they know happened never happened, so they feel like they're going crazy. Democrats are on the record supporting "gender affirming care" for minors; Rep. Pramila Jayapal just introduced a "Trans Bill of Rights" to make sure that such "care" is codified into law. They also elevate Rep. Tim McBride as an expert on womanhood and women's issues because he's trans. McBride recently said "threats" to trans people are a threat to all women.

It sounds insane because it is. "Trans women" are men, and those of us who took fourth-grade science know this. But the Democratic Party believes men can become women if they simply feel that way. Enabling such mental illness has deadly consequences, as we're learning.
On top of that, Democrats believe that jailing violent criminals doesn't reduce crime (it does), that we need to eat bugs and give up air conditioning so we can "control" the weather (we don't), and that America having borders and enforcing immigration laws is akin to the Third Reich's "Final Solution (it's not). On every major 80-20 issue, Democrats take the 20 side, and then attack the majority of us as "extremists," "bigots," and homophobes.
They even came out against dogs, for crying out loud. First, they were gung-ho on offing Fido to reduce our carbon footprint, and earlier this week, Rep. Randy Fine showed they'd also gladly euthanize Fluffy if it meant appeasing Muslims.
All of this is borne of a rich, privileged, intellectual class that has never once dealt with real adversity or hardship. Thinking that some women have penises is a concept so ridiculous that only someone with a doctoral degree could come up with it. Your local plumber, electrician, or grocery store clerk doesn't have the luxury of entertaining such foolishness.
So it's understandable that most normal Americans find the Democratic Party's platform so insane that it's literally unbelievable. But it's imperative that Republicans and conservative activists get the word out that the Democratic Party of old has been usurped by radical Leftists who are simply wearing the party of FDR and JFK as a skin suit. Failure to keep the Democrats out of power in Washington would be akin to handing the inmates the keys to the asylum.
It's a notion so crazy that we cannot allow it to become reality.
