Earlier this week, another transgender person committed an act of violence against children. This time, it happened in British Columbia, Canada. At least seven people were killed, and more than two dozen were injured. This happened at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School.
I knew almost immediately that the shooter was trans because he was described as a "woman in a dress" by the media and a "gunperson" by Canadian police. That gunman, identified as Jesse Strang, was found dead at the school of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Unsurprisingly, the Left and the media, as well as Canadian law enforcement, have made it clear their priority here is respecting Strang's pronouns and his "gender identity."
The Toronto Star identified him as an "18-year-old female" with the last name Van Rootselaar.

Strang transitioned at the age of 12 and was reportedly also on SSRIs. Despite this, police are going to use his "preferred gender pronouns."

"We're not hiding it...we identified the suspect as they chose to be identified in public and on social media. I can say Jesse was born as a biological male," says the official, "who approximately...six years ago began to transition as female and identified as female."
Just incredible.
But the most insulting and egregious abuse of this comes from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), who also referred to Strang as an "18-year-old woman" with "mental health issues" and then locked replies.

Yeah, those "mental health issues" were that an 18-year-old man thought he was a woman, and they were caused by the people around him helping him "transition" when he was 12.
My youngest son is 12 years old, and I can tell you that he's not capable of deciding he was "born in the wrong body." If he ever said that, I would make sure that I affirmed his gender as male. That's my duty and obligation as his parent. The people around Strang failed him. And it's completely possible Strang had other mental health issues exacerbated by the drugs he was on as part of his "transition" or the SSRIs he was taking. Many "trans kids" have trauma or other issues that underly their "gender dysphoria."
But I digress. The point is not to dig into Strang's background or mental health. The point is that Strang chose to shoot and kill people, many of them children. There was a time in our world when that would rightly get one labeled a monster undeserving of respect, even in death.
But now the culture has decided to not only run cover for violent trans individuals like Strang, but to make sure the rest of us can't speak the truth that's as plain as day: Jesse Strang was a man who killed children.
The only ones who deserve respect and consideration are Strang's victims, and every time the police, the media, and other Leftists use his "preferred pronouns" or call him a woman, they're disrespecting those victims and their families, and slapping the survivors in the face.
