Voters Rejected the ‘Values’ Minneapolis Democrats Hold Dear

Democrats love to tell us they're the "defenders of democracy," right up until they lose an election. History is full of examples of Democrats throwing temper tantrums when votes don't go their way, including when George W. Bush won the 2000 election, when California voters passed Prop. 8, and when Donald Trump won reelection in 2024, including winning the popular vote.

Of course, we're a democratic republic, and not a democracy. So winning the popular vote is more symbolic than anything and utterly meaningless in the course of politics. The Founders were brilliant men who realized the tyranny of pure democracy, where 50-plus-one meant the slim majority could, and would, run roughshod over the large minority.

We're seeing that play out in Minneapolis right now. Yes, Kamala Harris won the state with 50.92 percent of the vote, or 1,656,979. But 1,519,032 voters (46.68 percent) of Minnesotans voted for Donald Trump.

So when Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey laments the fact that ICE agents are in his city doing the job he — and Tim Walz — have refused to do for years, and Frey has the audacity to talk about "the values that you hold dear," it is not only wrong, but enraging.

What about the values of those 1.5 million Minnesotans, Frey? Or the nearly 200,000 Minneapolis residents who voted for Trump? Why do their values not matter?

This is the game Democrats always play: only their values are acceptable and matter. Only their agenda — no matter how radical — is normal and not extreme. They believe they get to dictate how the rest of the country acts, thinks, and feels about every major issue. The fact that 1.5 million Minnesotans and 77 million Americans voted for the guy who vowed to clean up the Democrats' immigration mess means that "the values that [we] hold dear" do not align with Frey's worldview.

Minnesota, and every other sanctuary city and state, doesn't get to be an island. We fought a Civil War over that very mentality, and if I recall correctly, the people who tried to secede from the Union ended up losing that fight.

What's happening in Minnesota, and what Democratic Party politicians have been doing for the better part of the year, is stochastic terrorism. Remember when that was the Left's favorite buzzword? They loved accusing LibsofTikTok of engaging in "stochastic terrorism" for simply sharing what Leftists themselves put online. They blamed her for death threats, bomb threats, and any act of violence they could find.

Meanwhile, Tim Walz, Jacob Frey, and almost every other politician with a (D) after his name are calling ICE agents the Gestapo, Nazis, fascists, and domestic terrorists. They are urging their base to "put their bodies on the line" (as Minnesota Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan implored). It's already gotten one woman killed, and attacks on ICE have skyrocketed, so it's clear the Democrats are fine with a few more dead bodies.

For what?

For enforcing immigration laws that Democrats voted for, through an agency that once had the support of Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin. President Trump has now threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act, and I hope he does it. I hope he sends Frey and Walz home with their tails between their legs, because the only way this insanity ends is by making an example of Minneapolis.

There really is a stark contrast between the Democratic Party and the rest of America. The Democrats value keeping violent, taxpayer money-stealing illegal immigrants in our cities, where they rape, murder, and maim innocents without consequence, and billions of tax dollars from hard-working Americans to support terrorists in Africa.

The rest of us value law and order, secure borders, and keeping Americans safe. And the rest of us won the election in 2024, so those are the values we hold dear. After all, the Democrats love democracy, right?

And if it takes thousands of ICE agents descending on Minneapolis to make those values shared, so be it.
