I have no problems admitting when I'm wrong about something, and I was wrong about John Fetterman. When Fetterman first ran for office, right after a massive stroke left him with significant aphasia and concerns about his cognitive and physical health, I believed the Democrats wanted a puppet. Someone who, like Joe Biden or Dianne Feinstein shortly before her death, Democrats could control.
So did the Democrats, and no one was more disappointed than they when Fetterman not only largely regained his faculties but also became the last voice of sanity on his side of the aisle. So much so that the radical Leftists want to primary Fetterman and remove him from office.
Just the other day, Fetterman was hospitalized following a fall related to ventricular fibrillation. For the non-medical readers out there, ventricular fibrillation is when the bottom two chambers of your heart beat irregularly. It's a dangerous arrhythmia and Fetterman is still in the hospital while doctors adjust his medications. I have seen nothing but concern and support from conservatives.
But just a day before his hospitalization, Fetterman admitted it's the Left who are awful to him.
Sen John Fetterman (D) admits on CNN that the LEFT is BY FAR more violent and cruel than the Right.

"The Right would say really rough things and names... but on the Left, it was like they want me to DIE or that 'We're cheering for your next stroke'"pic.twitter.com/4FIqvr70on
"It's just been my personal experience on this thing," Fetterman said. "The difference is the right would say probably rough things and names...but the Left...they want me to die or 'We're cheering for your next stroke' or 'Why couldn't the depression win?' or 'I hope your kids find you.'"

Even the CNN anchor seemed appalled. So am I.
Over the years, my respect for Fetterman has grown. Yes, Fetterman is still a Democrat. No, he and I won't see eye to eye on many issues. But on ones where it genuinely matters, Fetterman has not disappointed me.
This includes refusing to condemn Charlie Kirk despite Katie Couric's best efforts.

FETTERMAN: "I think at this point right now, we are not in an autocracy. We’re in a democracy."
COURIC: "Would you concede that some of the things that he is doing are… pic.twitter.com/m2rrm8s0B5
That's the hallmark of every abuser, by the way. They will blame the victim for the way they treated the victim, but Fetterman didn't take the bait despite Couric's repeated attempts.
Here's just some of the exchanges:
Couric: Did you have any issues now in hindsight over some of the things that Charlie Kirk said? ...
Fetterman: Charlie engaging in debate would never justify what's happened. I just chose not to take the opportunity to argue his views after children lost their father in the most violent public way.
Couric: I think some people might say Charlie Kirk's rhetoric was extreme ... People think his words lead to violence.
Fetterman: I think we agree that we probably didn't agree with much of what he said. But I'm sure we both agree that you shouldn't execute them in public.
Scott Jennings described it best when he called Couric's comments not questions but "hateful views being laundered as questions."
These aren’t questions. These are just her hateful views being laundered as questions in the hopes someone will join her ghoulish attempt to smear Charlie and blame him for his own murder. Fetterman, once again, proves his backbone & moral compass. https://t.co/0fqnWsXYQS

Nor did Fetterman stoop to Couric's level and call President Trump a fascist.

Couric asked, "Would you concede that some of the things that he is doing are clearly anti-democratic and also are potentially even unconstitutional?"
And Fetterman's response was perfect. He said, "We happen to have a different view of these things. I don’t call people fascists or Nazis or compare people to Hitler."
Despite our fundamental political differences, I like John Fetterman. In fact, I am going to donate to his reelection campaign should he decide to run again (his latest health scare gives me pause) and should the Democrats primary him.
Why? Because I'd rather have a Congress full of Democrats like Fetterman than the violent socialists currently infiltrating the party. We need Democrats like John Fetterman in Congress because he doesn't want people like me dead, and he won't govern vindictively like some of his colleagues have, and will.
