First Lady Melania Trump just delivered a crushing blow to the left-wing media smear machine. The Daily Beast has been forced to issue a formal apology and retract a story that recklessly attempted to tie the First Lady to Jeffrey Epstein—without a shred of evidence.
The hit piece, which cited discredited author Michael Wolff, falsely claimed Melania was “very involved” with Epstein. But after receiving a legal letter from her attorneys, the Daily Beast deleted the article and issued a weak apology in an apparent effort to avoid a lawsuit that could have cost them millions.
The Daily Beast's apology:
The Daily Beast recently published a story headlined "Melanie Trump 'Very Involved' in Epstein Scandal: Author" based on an interview with Michael Wolff. Upon reflection, we have determined that the article did not meet our standards and has therefore been removed from our platforms. In response to a letter from the First Lady's attorneys, The Daily Beast has also removed a portion of an episode of The Daily Beast Podcast titled "Trump's Epstein Scandal Can't Stop Won't Stop" referencing the First Lady. The First Lady points to her best-selling book Melania as the definitive account of her life story.
This is yet another example of the corporate media trying to manufacture a scandal around the Trump family while protecting their political allies. They pushed a baseless narrative, got caught, and were forced to retreat under legal pressure.
