If a Democrat Said This About Trump’s Reconciliation Package, You Know It's a Good Bill

This year's Independence Day weekend was a great one. We got the reconciliation package through. We cut taxes, kicked illegal aliens off Medicaid, and secured the southern border. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has a budget that’s larger than the military expenditures of 15 nations. As an aside, it’s also a reminder that once the Fourth of July passes, summer heads into overdrive. We’re weeks away from football, fall, and the end of the heat. Yet, Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) had some peculiar remarks about the bill when it passed, and any rational person would ask why he voted the way he did.

It's no secret why—he’s a Democrat, his party is rabidly anti-Trump, socialist, female, and unhinged, so he must kowtow to the left-wing mob that’s taken over the party base. Politics aside, his vote was asinine. When you agree with 75 percent of the bill and vote against it, you’re a clown show act. That’s a solid case for voting “yes” on any legislation, but Democrats don’t care about what’s good for the country. Suozzi made these remarks on July 6, after Trump signed the bill into law (via NY Post):

“I like the idea that we’re investing more money to secure the border,” said Suozzi, who represents Long Island and part of Queens. “I like the idea that we are providing tax breaks to lower-income folks and hard-working middle-class folks and people aspiring to the middle class.”

Host Weijia Jiang had pointed to his recent comments about favoring the bulk of President Trump’s marquee agenda bill. Last month, Suozzi told Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, “I agree with 75% of the stuff that’s in the big bill that you guys talk about.”

But the Empire State Democrat argued that preserving the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act’s lower rates for the wealthy, the Medicaid cuts and the deficit impact of the megabill were too much for him to stomach.

Oh, cut the crap, man. Even Sen. Bernie Sanders knew the 2017 Trump tax cuts, which are now permanent, provided relief for working families.

But, again, I get it. You’re a Democrat, Tom, a party that’s beyond unhinged, power-hungry, and suffering from long Trump Derangement Syndrome.
