Yikes: Meet the New DNC Vice Chairman, in His Own Words

As you may have seen, former teen gun control activist, turned undeserving Harvard acceptee and student, turned adult gun control activist, David Hogg has been elected Vice Chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  Hogg boasted the endorsements of failed Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz (one assumes Hogg was one of the people Walz was thinking when he misspoke in his debate against JD Vance and claimed to have become "friends with school shooters"), and Congressman Eric Swalwell.  The 24-year-old, whose Florida high school was devastated by a deadly school shooting in 2018, beat out a number of other candidates to win the post.

Including this guy:

Democrats were like, nah, let's go with the failed pillow salesman Here's how the Wall Street Journal describes the DNC process that helped produce Vice Chairman Hogg:

“Twenty big cities, Aspen and Martha’s Vineyard—that’s what’s left of the Democratic Party,” lamented former congressional candidate Adam Frisch. “And I’m not exactly sure those 20 big cities are getting the best version of the Democratic Party.” Frisch, who lives in Aspen, ran in a red district in rural Colorado; he overperformed the top of the ticket but still fell short. Yet as the would-be leaders bickered over party mechanics, the very pathologies that many critics argue have alienated Democrats from the American heartland were on display: a party captive to leftist activists, obsessed with divisive litmus tests, out of touch with regular people’s concerns and in thrall to a patronizing identity politics that alienates many of the very minorities it is meant to attract. Nor did anyone dare to argue that the prior administration’s failures might have contributed to voters’ sour view of Democrats, that former President Joe Biden dragged the party down or that former Vice President Kamala Harris was a mediocre candidate. The party’s departing chairman, Jaime Harrison, has been giving interviews standing by his view that Biden shouldn’t have dropped out of the presidential race; his would-be successors had nothing but praise for his tenure. The party’s leaders were vowing to turn the page, but it was clear many things have yet to change.

To wit, they offered a cringeworthy Native American "land acknowledgement" during the voting. Despite the Democrats engaging in such performative rituals for years, Donald Trump won Native Americans by roughly a 2-to-1 margin in November.  As for Hogg, here he is weighing in on how he believes his own activism and "work" are perceived over the last few years:

It would be politically suicidal for any politician to be too closely associated with me, he explained.  Then the DNC made him their Vice Chairman.  Hogg has enthusiastically accepted the role, which he actively sought, so he presumably won't be surrendering it to a non-straight white man, despite his little woke morality lesson embedded above.  Of course. And for a party struggling to connect with normal people, especially men, nothing screams "relatable" like, I'm choosing not to have kids because I'd rather drive my Porsche with my purebred dog is the passenger seat:

One of the other students from Hogg's high school, who helped co-found the 'March for Our Lives' gun control movement (and is quite familiar with Hogg) posted this on social media:

I'll leave you with Bill Maher schooling Hogg on Israel's defensive war after the Hamas atrocities of October 7th.  This ignorant both-sideser is now, perhaps fittingly, a senior Democratic Party official:

Oh, and by the way, when I called him an 'undeserving Harvard acceptee' above, here's the backstory on that:

He was admitted because of his left-wing politics and activism, period -- stealing a slot from some far more qualified applicant.  Meanwhile, Harvard also knuckled under to a coordinated, garbage cancelation of another (politically conservative) student from that very same high school, who actually got into the prestigious university on his own merits.  His acceptance was rescinded, while Hogg's woefully insufficient resume was deemed worthy of Harvard.  Yes, this really happened:

I will never get over the fact that there were two students who came out of the Stoneman Douglas massacre who represented the right and left of the debate.  Both were accepted into Harvard. The right-winger had astonishing grades, scores, and credentials. The left-winger (Hogg) was a mushy mediocre pick, obviously would never have gotten in except that he leveraged his politics into a Harvard admission. They destroyed the right-winger. F**king crushed him with a leak of private messages he sent when he was 14 years old (protecting, of course, the person who leaked those messages). They destroyed a teenager because they didn't like his politics. Meanwhile, Hogg has bounced from failure to failure. He is a visible sign of how the left-wing elevates idiots, lavishes them with money and opportunity, and coddles them when they fail. And now this dipsh*t is the DNC Vice Chair. I hope he brings every ounce of his stupidity into this organization and grinds it into a fine paste. Maybe then he'll be eligible for a lifetime position as tenured faculty.

Republicans will hope yet another DEI role (trauma exploitation version) for Hogg turns out to be as effective as his other endeavors.
