GOP Senator Has Had It With Democrats' Anti-Trump Antics: They Will Do Anything To Hurt The President

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) never seemed like someone who wouldn’t be a team player. He’s rarely, if ever, caused heartburn for the party in the fashion that Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) has done in his last days on the Hill. Hatch is retiring as well; Mitt Romney will be occupying his seat, winning the 2018 Utah Senate election handily. And as he’s about to retire from public life, he’s making clear that he’s had enough of the Democratic party’s anti-Trump antics. He’s sticking with him—and he feels like he’s doing the nation well. He’s not wrong.

This is beyond the hatred that was hurled at George W. Bush—and that was atrocious as well. This is a whole new level of crazy, to the point where the media is straight up peddling fake news to generate controversy (and ratings) to try and hamstring this president because they didn’t like that he won. In light of Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, guilty pleas and being sentenced to three years in jail, plus fees, Hatch says that the Left will do anything they can to hurt the president (via The Hill):

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) on Monday dismissed federal charges implicating President Trump in crimes committed by his former lawyer, saying that he doesn't care about the argument made in a court filing by the Southern District of New York because Trump is a good president.

"I don't care, all I can say is he's doing a good job as president," Hatch said in an interview with CNN, before adding that he's not bothered by the filing because he doesn't think Trump was involved in crimes.

"The Democrats will do anything to hurt this president," he told CNN. "What happened before he was elected president is one thing, but since he’s been elected the economy’s done well, our country is moving ahead. We’re in better shape than when we were before he became president. And I think we ought to judge him on that basis."

Hatch pretty much vocalized what most Republicans feel about all of the investigations into the Trump administration, including the DOJ’s Russia investigation headed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which is readily becoming a bogus witch hunt. To this day, there is zero evidence the Trump campaign and the Kremlin colluded during the 2016 election.
