Woman Who Lied About Email Server Compares Trump To Nixon

Hillary Clinton delivered the commencement address in Wellesley College, comparing President Trump to Nixon, while also saying we're in the midst of a full blown assault on truth and reason (via CNN):

In a fiery commencement speech at her alma mater of Wellesley College on Friday, Clinton went after President Donald Trump and the controversies that are swirling around him, comparing his imperiled presidency to that of Richard Nixon's.
"We were furious about the past presidential election of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice, after firing the person running the investigation into him at the Department of Justice," Clinton said, discussing the sentiment on campus the year that she graduated.

The former presidential nominee's sharp remarks -- met with thunderous applause and cheers from the graduating class -- was yet another sign of Clinton's increasing eagerness to publicly take on the man who handed her a second failed presidential bid.

Clinton's comments also appeared to suggest she might even be relishing the deepening crisis at the Trump White House as it confronts a barrage of accusations of colluding with the Russians. Clinton's reference to Nixon's firing of an investigator was a clear knock at Trump's controversial decision to sack his former FBI Director James Comey. Since Comey's ouster, the President has been accused of urging Comey to end a probe into his ex-national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Clinton went on to take other thinly veiled digs at Trump, saying that "when people in power invent their own facts and attack those who question them, it can mark the beginning of the end of a free society."

The former first lady seems to forget her own linguistic gymnastics with the truth concerning her private email server. While not attacking per se the people asking the questions, she just ignored them for nearly a year, refusing to hold press conferences for the vast majority of the 2016 campaign. She roped off the press during campaign events like cattle, and her narrative about the email server constantly changed as new facts undercut her flailing attempts to make it appear as if it wasn’t a big deal. The former secretary of state said the server was permitted. That wasn’t true. It was unauthorized by State Department officials, who said in the inspector general report last year that Secretary Clinton never asked them for permission to set up this private server and if she had—it would have been rejected. It was also unsecure, which drew allegations that she mishandled classified information. Classified information was found on that server as well, though with the exception of three emails, none were classified while being sent or received at the time. The FBI eventually up-classified them upon review. The three emails that were classified at the time of transference were said to be marked improperly, despite Clinton being an original classification authority as secretary of state. At the time, former FBI Director James Comey said that Mrs. Clinton wasn’t "sophisticated enough" to know that marked paragraphs were classified.

Yet, overall, Mr. Comey’s testimony last year also exposed Clinton’s falsehoods concerning her email usage. She said that no classified emails were sent or received, that the server was secured, and that all work related emails were turned over. All turned out to be false.

Clinton is trying to position herself to be a key member of the resistance against President Trump, launching a super PAC that will fund anti-Trump organizations and eventually 2018 candidates. She touched upon her loss as well, noting that wine helped her through it. I think she could help herself and her party by just going away.

Also, besides Clinton plugging her Onward Together super PAC in the address, she falsely said that Richard Nixon was impeached. He wasn’t. The last person to be impeached was none other than her husband, Bill “Slick Willy” Clinton. Also, Nixon never fired the FBI director. There was direct evidence linking Nixon to the Watergate break-in cover up. There is zero evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians. The special prosecutor, Archibald Cox, during the Watergate break-in asked for the tapes that would show Nixon plotting with then-White House Chief Of Staff H.R. Haldeman the initial stages of the cover up. Solicitor General Robert Bork, who was tasked with firing Cox, carried it out after Nixon’s Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus resigned in protest. At the time, it was quite clear that Nixon did this to impede the investigation. We don’t know if that was the case concerning Trump’s firing of Mr. Comey. It certainly hasn’t impeded anything, however, but chalk the Nixon comparison up as another falsehood from Lady Macbeth.
