Over the past few years, tens of thousands of illegal aliens have flooded schools in the United States.
As Townhall covered, so-called “sanctuary” areas have complained about the toll this has taken on the public school system. In New York, specifically, reports broke that the massive influx of illegal immigrant children in Manhattan schools may push children with disabilities and special needs out of academic buildings and into sites that are inadequate for their needs.
“Sanctuary” states and cities aren’t the only places that have been negatively impacted by the influx of illegal alien children in the school system.
This week, reports broke that the state of Oklahoma would sue the Biden administration for unleashing “massive chaos” on the public school system due to their open border policies.
According to Fox News, the lawsuit, launched by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters, targets President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

The lawsuit demands that the Biden administration refund the Sooner State approximately $470 million it spent on illegal alien children over the last four years (via Fox News):
Walters, who filed the suit in the Western District Court of Oklahoma today, told Fox News Digital that public schools are "overrun with illegal immigrants" who are stretching the system’s resources thin and limiting opportunities for the children of taxpaying citizens.
According to data gathered by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, the state spends approximately $11,000 per student annually, and the number of unaccompanied migrant children placed in the state is nearly 3,000.
Walters told Fox News that they are struggling to provide the right teachers, transportation and other resources for illegal alien children. This will impact the state’s education budget long-term.
"It truly is chaos in the school system. And who's suffering here? It's the students," Walters told the outlet. "Joe Biden and Kamala Harris did this intentionally, and we've got students caught in the crossfire here. We have got to protect them, and we've got to get our states back on track in educating our kids."
