Is This a Sign There’s Been a Thaw in Relations Between Musk, Trump?

Attention shifted this weekend away from the battle over the Big, Beautiful Bill to Los Angeles, where violent anti-ICE riots broke out over immigration enforcement operations being conducted in the area. Agitators violently clashed with law enforcement outside a federal building, defaced buildings, set cars ablaze, and slashed tires, all while proudly waving Mexican flags. President Trump called in the National Guard, which California Democrats are blasting as totally unnecessary. And by early Monday morning, the commander in chief said things in LA are “looking really bad,” believing it’s time to “BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!” He vowed that “order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free.”

The events in LA were apparently enough to bring Elon Musk to the administration’s side once again, as the billionaire entrepreneur reposted a Truth Social message from Trump and shared a tweet from Vice President JD Vance, adding flag emojis.

Many saw the retweets as a positive sign in the thawing of relations after last week's wild and very public fight.

Last week, Trump said he had no interest in speaking with Musk, arguing that "Elon's totally lost it"—comments that came after Musk falsely accused the president of being in the Jeffrey Epstein files, though the billionaire went on to delete that tweet and others in his war of words with POTUS.
