While the media has fixated on the number of individuals who have died from the Wuhan coronavirus, a much more hopeful figure to look at is the number of those who have recovered, which, according to Johns Hopkins, is more than 500,000 people. In two hospitals in New York and Michigan, medical staff are celebrating patients’ discharge by blaring Journey’s classic hit, “Don’t Stop Believin’” as they leave.

"Every patient discharge gives hope to New York-Presbyterian Queens staff. They are encouraged to see their patients recovering and going home," Jaclyn Mucaria, president of New York-Presbyterian Queens, told "Good Morning America."

Steve Perry, the former lead singer of the band, also chimed in on Twitter.

"I wanted to share a little cheer from New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital in NY. They play “Don’t Stop Believin’” every time a COVID-19 patient is discharged," he said. "We’re all in this together, and we’ll get through this together. #DontStopBelievin."
