Kagan "Doesn't Know" if She's a "Legal Progressive"

Senator Sessions (R-AL) just quoted a liberal lawyer friend of Elena Kagan who said she was a "legal progressive." Sessions asked Kagan if she considers that a fair label. She just said she doesn't know what that phrase means.

With all due respect, her answer is unbelievable. Why can't we just have an honest discussion, like Kagan herself called for in her 1995 Chicago Law Review article? Let me offer some help: Saying you're "not sympathetic" to the argument that the Second Amendment gives you a right to own a gun in your home is the view of a "legal progressive." Saying that don't-ask-don't-tell is a moral injustice of the highest order is the opinion of a "legal progressive."
