Good News: Agents Who Doctored FISA Evidence and Abused Their Power Are Still Working at the FBI

In case you missed it yesterday, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz was asked how many FBI agents who engaged in FISA misconduct are still working at the FBI. Although former FBI Director James Comey, former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and Counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok have been fired, everyone else is still employed. They were handpicked by McCabe to spy on the Trump campaign.

"I'd like to focus on the discipline aspect of these because these 'mistakes' were made by some people that really wanted to do bad harm to an individual. Illegally," Republican Senator Joni Ernst asked. "With the concealment of facts to the FISA court...can you explain why there were no more criminal referrals."

"What we ultimately decided was that the conduct here warranted sending the entire report to the FBI and the Department for review for review from the line agent all the way to the top of people who were still at the FBI," Horowitz said.

"So we don't know of anyone else who has been fired or reassigned?" Ernst followed up. "How many case agents involved with FISA applications in your report are still active case agents today?'

"There are several who still are that are still active agents," Horowitz said.

Horowitz then explained that when agents breach trust, as in this case, there is an obligation to remove them from their positions. He also said performance failures and accountability for misconduct are crucial.

But instead of being removed, those agents are still working at the FBI. They still have security clearances. There has been no punishment.

"If they aren't good guys, they need to go," Ernst said.

For details about the egregious behavior of agents during Crossfire Hurricane, we go to Republican Senator Ted Cruz.
