Monica Lewinsky to Give First TV Interview Since 2003

What an opportune time for Monica Lewinsky to make her way back into the limelight.

Lewinsky has booked her first television interview since 2003 for a National Geographic mini-series called “The 90s: The Last Great Decade?” The special will recap major events and highlight the most influential people of the 1990s. It is set to air on July 6.

"Monica Lewinsky" became a household name in 1998 when the political sex scandal between she and President Bill Clinton emerged. Lewinsky spoke out last month in her Vanity Fair essay entitled “Shame and Survival” where she said that she plans to stop “tiptoeing around my past—and other people’s futures.”

Whose future might she be talking about? Just yesterday, we told you about Hillary Clinton’s People Magazine interview where she voiced that she is “concerned about what I see happening in the country and in the world.” While everybody seems to be setting the stage for Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016, even Clinton herself is hinting at this possibility.

In addition to her People interview, Clinton was recently quoted saying something similar at a Clinton Global Initiative event at Arizona State University:

Following a discussion with her husband, Bill, and daughter, Chelsea, which was chaired by the talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel, Clinton was asked by a member of the audience: “Ms Clinton, if you won't represent women in politics in America as future president, who will?”

She replied: “Look, I am very much concerned about the direction of our country. And it's not just who runs for office but what they do when they get there and how we bring people together, and particularly empower young people.”

Pressed by Kimmel to give a clearer answer, she added: “I'm obviously thinking about all kinds of decisions.”
