The ongoing destabilization of our nation that started in 2020 is no longer only affecting those who live below or near the poverty line. Within one day, yesterday, the country learned how progressives and Democrats at the local and national level have faced the serious consequences of the breakdown of law and order.

It first started with the case of Philadelphia journalist Josh Kruger. Kruger, a far-left writer who used to work for the city, was found shot multiple times and later died because of his serious injuries. He had a long history of downplaying the city's current crime wave, including the days leading up to his death:

Bro speak for your block mine isn't 'ruined,' the city isn't 'ruined,' and just because Larry Krasner keeps winning in landslides doesn't mean Philly is a heap of cinders and ashes no matter how much people say. Like the rest of the country we are dealing with upticks in crime.

Today, I learned there is apparently a 'crippling crime wave destroying all cities' according to Stephen Miller, which includes presumably Philly. My house is not on fire and chaos is not reigning in the street. I saw a man get a parking ticket yesterday. My trash got picked up.

This isn't meant to dance on Kruger's fresh grave, but I can say that I have no sympathy for him. Time and again, people like Kruger mocked those who say our cities have a big crime problem. It is the equivalent of people warning Kruger about a fire in his home, only to be met with reassurances that the fire is contained in one room, resulting in the flames engulfing him. Can't say he wasn't warned.

The next case was that of Ryan Carson, a social activist and executive director for No OD NY, a group dedicated to ending overdose deaths. Carson was stabbed to death in front of his girlfriend in Crown Heights. He, likewise, taunted Scott Adams, saying if the Dilbert creator donated a 1/1000th of his wealth to him, he could foster transformative societal change.

The last case is Rep. Henry Cuellar (TX) being carjacked mere blocks away from the Capitol building. As a Democrat who represents a border town, his voting record is slightly more conservative than other Congressional Democrats. That said, his fellow Democrats are overwhelmingly in favor of Washington, D.C.'s, pro-crime bill the local government tried to implement. Among the crimes that would have been decriminalized? Carjackings.

Even though that bill was killed, our capital is grappling with an understaffed police force and high crime. Criminals have no fear of repercussions because there are barely any except in extreme circumstances.

The slow decline of our nation is starting to accelerate, and it's swallowing up those who have insisted there is no issue. Lessons are learned willingly or through pain. It seems Democrats are hellbent on learning through pain – if they learn at all.
