MSNBC Guest Warns Democrats About Upcoming Midterm 'Blood Bath'

Frequent MSNBC guest Donny Deutsch conceded a lot of voters are more worried about the cost of living and being able to make ends meet instead of issues like abortion and the January 6 Capitol riot.

Deutsch said he is really concerned about the upcoming "blood bath" as Republicans are projected to take back the House of Representatives and Democrats are not guaranteed to keep the Senate. Key Senate races in states like Arizona and Pennsylvania have seen Democrats' chance of winning those seats dwindle as the midterms gets closer.

"And then you see a woman who’s raising four kids on $400 a week, and you go, ‘Nothing else matters to her.’ There’s no argument other than, ‘Guess what? We’re going to figure out a way to make it more affordable to you.’ When it’s about survival, when it’s about these issues that just — they can’t live," Deutsch said on Friday.

Deutsch said Democrats can try to scare voters into casting their ballot for them by saying the economy can get worse under Republican leadership but that doesn't change how the situation is right now.

"And I’ve come on the show and talked a lot that you’ve got to scare people and make it about the Republicans that are crazy people, but even with the pending crazy, when you can’t afford to buy the stuff that you were able to buy a year or two or three years ago, it’s tough, tough sledding," he continued. "I hate to be negative ninny over here — I don’t even know what the hell that means — but I am really scared about a bloodbath ten days from now."

Democrats assumed their chances of stemming a "red wave" increased with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, but the poor state of the economy is still the number one issue for voters.
