The Left Is Really Mad That We Bought Our Troops Steak and Lobster for Dinner

A report detailing the amount of money that the Department of War has spent on food items has been all the rage in leftist circles on social media today. Countless posts have been made from journalists, influencers, and even politicians.

Reports of millions of dollars having been spent on delicious steak, seafood, and desserts circulated throughout the day. The lefties were shocked. Gavin Newsom’s press team equated it to the billions of dollars of Somali fraud in Minnesota (funny that they’re admitting that it’s real and that it’s a bad thing now).

On its face, their criticism might seem legitimate. When you think about it for longer than a nanosecond, however, it becomes clear that the food was going to those serving our country and not a bunch of bureaucrats or people robbing the taxpayer. Do those on the Left really think that our brave men and women in uniform shouldn’t be allowed to eat nice food? I don’t think that spoiling the troops with a steak and a donut every now and again is what is propping up the national debt. When you consider that the United States has two million troops, these numbers seem pretty tiny in comparison.

At the same time, the Trump administration has been criticized for the quality of food being too poor during Operation Epic Fury (and they’re using a video that was posted months ago to try and dunk on him for it). Trump’s critics, as always, want to have it both ways.

I’d much prefer my tax money to buy a steak dinner for the guy serving my country instead of paying the salary of the judges trying to destroy it, but thank you to the Left for so transparently revealing where their priorities are.
