Will We Get to See the Best Olympic Hockey Final in Years?

Will We Get to See the Best Olympic Hockey Final in Years?

The Winter Olympic Games are in full swing, and the United States and Canada look like they are likely to meet in the hockey final. Canada has looked unbeatable so far and the United States isn’t too far behind the pace, so this may prove to be the best Olympic final in years.

Canada just came off of a 10-2 win over France, with Sidney Crosby becoming his country’s all-time scorer in the Olympics, and swept their group. Team USA went unbeaten as well, beating Germany 5-1. The two now enter the knockout stages as the one and two seeds in matches they should certainly win, where we will likely see a U.S.-Canada final.

The political backdrop for the game is of obvious interest. Canada's sense of self-importance has reached all-time levels. The canucks have been defying America at every turn, and they are being destroyed from the inside by their desire to adopt a further hard-left, socialist-esque stance on every policy imaginable. Just look at Greenland, the tariffs, the potential for Albertan independence and a seeming open invitation for American statehood should they actually follow through on it, and Canada’s overall refusal to admit that the U.S. is calling the shots. Need I even mention their mass migration crisis and euthanasia practices?

When you add in their decision to flock to China for trade, they might as well have started the Fifth International.

Still, the game will be phenomenal. There haven’t been many great games so far because the competition hasn’t been up to snuff (doesn’t help that Russia wasn’t able to compete), but we have seen a couple of good fights. To make things more compelling, the boys on the ice are seemingly the only Americans who are unabashedly proud to be representing the stars and stripes.

Soon we’ll see if Kurt Russell is up for making a sequel to “Miracle,” or if I'll just look like an idiot because we got knocked out in the semis against the Swedes.
