The Turning Point Halftime Show Is Gonna Be Interesting

Turning Point USA revealed their lineup for the much anticipated alternative Super Bowl Halftime Show that they’ve branded “The All American Halftime Show.”

The show will feature Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, and can be streamed on Turning Points socials or on their YouTube and Rumble pages. The lineup is certainly a stark contrast to the official show, which will feature a cross-dressing, ICE hating artist who goes by Bad Bunny.

I will be the first to admit that I am severely culturally challenged (being a missionary will do that to you), so I have never heard a single one of Bad Bunny’s songs. What I do know about the guy tells me all that I need to know, however.

Aside from his obvious anti-immigration enforcement politics, he famously wore a shirt commemorating the life of a man with a gender identity crisis who was murdered in Puerto Rico to a concert, much to the glee of the trans community.

Meanwhile, Turning Point’s show will feature a slew of patriotic artists willing to provide something different. It comes as a surprise and perhaps a missed opportunity that Nicki Minaj will not be featured (although I wouldn’t rule out a surprise appearance), but the show will provide much greater appeal to the Super Bowl’s target audience anyway. Again, I will admit that I have absolutely no idea who Gabby Barrett is, but I trust that she’ll put on a spirited performance.

Will the Super Bowl ever get back to more traditional halftime shows? I sincerely doubt it, but I’d love to be wrong. I’ve skipped the last few as I’m not a huge fan of rap and modern pop, which seems to be all that they allow to be played at this thing anymore. Last year featured superstar rapper Kendrick Lamar, who decided to use the platform to attack President Trump and made the show overtly political.

Roger Goodell claims that Bad Bunny won’t use the stage to play politics, but after his statements at Grammys I would assume that anything is on the table.

I, like President Trump, will be skipping the Super Bowl this year. Giving viewership to the people who hate me and my family doesn’t sound like the best use of my time. I will, however, happily watch Turning Point’s show and expect that many of my fellow conservatives will do the same.

Hopefully Turning Point’s protest of the traditional halftime show will cause enough mayhem to the NFL’s pocketbook to cause them to correct course like Budweiser has since their foray into gender politics.
