Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) was on point when he discussed why the Democratic Party can’t win the votes of White men.
During an appearance on Tara Palmeri’s show, Fetterman suggested there might not be a way for Democrats to win among this demographic. "How do Democrats win back white men like yourself?” Palmeri asked.
Fetterman replied, “I don’t know. And truthfully, I’m not sure. I’m not sure if that’s possible, to be honest.”
The senator continued: “I think that’s been seriously eroding for a while. And in some cases, in the conversations I’ve had, a lot of people don’t even want to say it publicly, but they just feel like the other side seems like it’s, ‘men are the problem.’ Men are to blame, or their masculinity is toxic. And if you’re not able to conform to a very strict definition of what’s considered appropriate, then, hey, ‘I’m going to find an alternative.’ And they’ve done that.”
The lawmaker further explained that now that Democrats have turned their backs on White men, it’s going to be difficult to rebuild and replace those voters, because I think that migration has been an ongoing phenomenon for several years. And that was front and center in the 2024 election."

TARA PALMERI: "How do Democrats win back white men like yourself?"
JOHN FETTERMAN: "I don't know. And truthfully, I'm not sure if that's possible, to be honest."
White men favored President Donald Trump by about 20 points in the 2024 election. It is noteworthy that White women also leaned toward Trump by four points. Republican congressional candidates also won more White males than Democrats.
But this goes even beyond White men. About 21 percent of Black male voters supported Trump. The GOP also picked up more Black voters in congressional races.
Hispanic men turned out for Trump and GOP congressional candidates more so than in past elections.
The Democrats have a serious male voter problem, and like Fetterman said, it is not likely they will fix this anytime soon.
Even further, I believe Fetterman’s assessment of how Democrats alienated men is also apt. Over the past decade, those on the left have taken to berating men simply for being men. During the 2024 campaign, Doug Emhoff, husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris embodied this reality during an interview on MSNBC.
When asked about masculinity, Emhoff argued that “there’s too much of toxicity — masculine toxicity out there, and we’ve kind of confused what it means to be a man, what it means to be masculine.”
He added, “You’ve got this trope out here where you have to be tough, and angry, and lash out to be strong.”

You might also remember when Democrats trotted out former President Barack Obama to schoolmarm Black men for being hesitant about supporting Harris.
“And you are thinking about sitting out?” he told a group of Black men. “Part of it makes me think — and I'm speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren't feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you're coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”
Great move, Barry.
The New York Times published an op-ed back in July in which the author made similar points to Fetterman. Richard Reeves, the founding president of the American Institute for Boys and Men, told the author that “the Democrats effectively ran as the Women’s Party.”
The author argued that all the talk of “toxic masculinity” and “mansplaining” turned off male voters. As Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, explained, “No one wants to be part of a movement that ignores or even denigrates them.”
As it turns out, you cannot insult people into supporting your movement. This is a lesson that Democrats would have to learn if they want to win over more men. Unfortunately for them, they are still stuck on stupid when it comes to this issue.
