Most recent reports had Aiken ahead of Crisco by only 369 votes for the Democratic primary in their district. Both candidates were waiting on word for how to proceed.

In a statement the North Carolina Board of Elections said,

“We are grateful for Mr. Crisco’s service to our state and his community through the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Crisco family during this difficult time.”

We are still waiting to hear from the Aiken camp.
