Rubio: We're Fixing More Biden Foreign Policy Blunders

AP Photo/Mark Schiefelbein, Pool

With so much attention focused on Ukraine and Russia, for good reason, mind you, it remains rather important to acknowledge other significant geopolitical developments and foreign policy moves from the Trump administration.  Among them was a strong commitment to US support for Israel as that nation's leaders reportedly prepare for another stage of the war Hamas ignited on October 7, 2023.  President Trump threatened Hamas to release all of the remaining hostages by a lapsed deadline, or face 'all hell breaking loose.'  Israel, unleashed by Trump in a way that the Biden administration never allowed, could be preparing to achieve total victory -- very much including a new hardline stance on aid flowing into territory controlled by Hamas, and where hostages remain held against their will.

In that vein, the new American leadership team has doubled down on weapons sales to the Israelis:

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Saturday that he had signed a declaration to expedite delivery of approximately $4 billion in military assistance to Israel, in what he cast as US President Donald Trump’s rejection of restrictions placed by predecessor Joe Biden. The Trump administration, which took office on January 20, has approved nearly $12 billion in major foreign military sales to Israel, Rubio said in a statement, adding that it “will continue to use all available tools to fulfill America’s long-standing commitment to Israel’s security, including means to counter security threats.” Rubio said he had used emergency authority to expedite the delivery of military assistance to Israel as it prepares for the possible return to war in Gaza amid a fragile ceasefire with Hamas.

It's a win-win for everyone except Hamas and their supporters.  Israel gets advanced weaponry to fight and kill the terrorists who murder and kidnapped Israelis and Americans alike, and the United States gets paid for supplying the weaponry.  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, clearly witnessing and seeking to totally avoid the mistakes his Ukrainian counterpart made (and tried to rectify) recently, published a video over the weekend publicly thanking President Trump and the US government for their ongoing, strong support:

Relatedly, remember the Biden administration's game-playing on the Houthis, an Iranian-backed terror organization that has launched attacks against our people, interests and allies?  The Biden administration de-listed them as a formally-designated terrorist group, then very belatedly quasi-re-listed them late in Biden's term.  And even that semi-reversal was still a half measure, as explained here:

Yesterday, Secretary Rubio restored a sane and clear-eyed categorization:

The State Department is fulfilling one of President Trump’s first promises upon taking office, and I’m pleased to announce the Department’s designation of Ansarallah, commonly referred to as the Houthis, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization...Since 2023, the Houthis have launched hundreds of attacks against commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, as well as U.S. service members defending freedom of navigation and our regional partners. Most recently, the Houthis spared Chinese-flagged ships while targeting American and allied vessels. Separately, the United States will not tolerate any country engaging with terrorist organizations like the Houthis in the name of practicing legitimate international business. Today’s action taken by the State Department demonstrates the Trump Administration’s commitment to protecting our national security interests, the safety of the American people, and the security of the United States.  Terrorist designations play a critical role in our fight against terrorism and are an effective way to curtail support for terrorist activities.

I'll leave you with a remidner of how morally depraved pro-terrorism forces in the West are:

This was at the same institution whose leader is dangerously clueless and woke, at best:

Can this coward point to the 'Islamophobic' equivalent to this action on his campus? Anything close?
