The Squad's Ongoing Disgrace on Israel and Hamas

AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite

Last week, we highlighted anti-Semitic bigot Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib repeatedly refusing to condemn Hamas for murdering and beheading babies (yes, that happened) during its bloodlust-driven terroristic rampage in Israel on October 7th. After her 'no comment' video went viral, she said nothing for days, evidently not eager to clear up the distinct impression left by her silence. At last, as Matt noted, she indignantly responded to the controversy in an interview.

Note well what she does, and does not, say here:

It took her four days to muster a generic comment against "targeting and killing civilians."  One might assume she's directing this at Hamas, but she doesn't say that, and she hasn't disavowed them.  Indeed, virtually all of her statements about this conflict are attacks against Israel, the side that doesn't target civilians, and only kills them unintentionally, typically because Hamas seeks to maximize Palestinian civilian deaths for propaganda purposes.  Based on Tlaib's short quote, you'd think that she is the real victim in all of this, accusing others of making "offensive" and "bigoted" assumptions about her "faith and ethnicity."  In fact, reasonable assumptions about her horrible beliefs are rooted in an established pattern of comments and behavior, not her faith or ethnicity.  Playing the victimhood/grievance/Islamophobia card here, as others have cynically attempted, is as on-brand as it is unconvincing.  Meanwhile, her fellow bigot, Rep. Ilhan Omar, spent some of her weekend sharing false information on social media.  Guess who the misinformation attacked?

Who's shocked?  What's important to point out is that even if this weren't a lie, and those babies had been tragically killed in Israel's reprisals, that would also be Hamas' fault -- yet Omar and her ilk would still be blaming Israel, not Hamas.  Under their poisonous worldview, it's always a lose-lose for Israel, which just happens to be the lone, tiny Jewish state on earth.  That's another manifestation of adherents' obsessive anti-Semitism. It's striking how backwards these people are, and how so few of the impassioned demands of Israel should really be directed at Hamas:

Hamas has the power to free the hostages they took after murdering 1,300 other Jews.  Hamas has the power to allow people to evacuate to safer areas, rather than telling them to say in northern Gaza as human shields.  Hamas has the capacity to give up its weapons, surrender, and help guarantee both peace and a Palestinian state.  Hamas can make humanitarian concessions in order to keep aid, water and electricity (from Israel) flowing.  Hamas does none of these things because Hamas is comprised of genocidal lunatics hellbent on the liquidation of Jews and the utter destruction of the Jewish state.  That's not my opinion; it's their stated goal, enshrined in their charter.  Anyone who denies this core reality of the conflict is ignorant or dishonest.  And since AOC made a predictable and morally-obtuse appearance in the embedded content above, I'll leave you with Ben Shapiro rightly ripping her for having the audacity to try to speak on behalf of the murdered victims, against Israeli self-defense.  Disgraceful:
