Tomi Lahren and Trevor Noah Face Off on ‘The Daily Show’

Last night, Tomi Lahren, host of the conservative show “Tomi” on TheBlaze, appeared on “The Daily Show” for an interview with Trevor Noah.

“I’m in the lion’s den, Trevor,” Lahren began as she took her seat.

After introducing Lahren and showing a clip of her show, Noah threw out his first question: “Why are you so angry?”

“I’m actually not that angry,” replied Lahren. “It’s just there’s things that need to be said, Trevor, and a lot of people are afraid to say them.” And Lahren certainly isn’t afraid to speak her mind.

“Sometimes people just need to be called on their sh*t,” she said.

Soon after, Noah turned the conversation to the Black Lives Matter Movement - and things got a bit heated.

“For somebody who is not racist, you have to spend a lot of time saying ‘I’m not racist’,” mentioned Noah. “What is your biggest issue with Black Lives Matter?”

Lahren went on to explain her thoughts on the movement, saying BLM started with good intentions but has since turned into a group of rioters, looters and militants.

Noah believes those labels only belong to a few, not the entire movement.

After debating the issue for a few more minutes, Noah asked Lahren, “What do you wish people would understand about you…on the other side?”

“I wish that we could disagree with each other without thinking we are bad people or ill-intentioned,” she said.  “So because I criticize a black person or I criticize the Black Lives Matter movement, that doesn’t mean that I’m anti-black…or that I’m racist…I’m criticizing a movement. I criticize Colin Kaepernick. That doesn’t mean I don’t believe in his First Amendment rights, but I believe in my First Amendment rights to criticize him.”

“To me, true diversity is diversity of thought, not diversity of color,” she concluded.

The two continued to go back and forth for the rest of the interview; and while they seemingly got nowhere, at least they were willing to listen one another and rebuttal respectfully. If nothing else, the interview was great example of open discourse between two people with varying opinions - and, of course, it was entertaining.
