Over time, the relationship between the establishment GOP and grassroots members has wilted more than a bouquet of roses after Valentine’s Day. November’s election results meant the return of a question that’s haunted American politics for several years: is a third party the way to go for those unhappy within the GOP? Or will such a split ensure the very causes these voters are fighting to promote will never become policy in D.C.?
