If anyone needs more signs of where the Democratic Party is headed in the future, look no further than Mamdani's victory, Nancy Pelosi's retirement, the newfound hatred of Chuck Schumer, and MSNBC's choosing to interview Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, only once since March of 2025. And reports indicate that he is becoming more isolated.

Fetterman represents the sober, in-touch Democrat, and he is quickly going out of fashion within his party.

That one interview happened on Tuesday, where the Senator had the opportunity to discuss why he chose to vote with Republicans and fund the government. He and the other Democrats who supported the continuing resolution have received nothing but hatred from their party. During the interview with MSNBC, he repeatedly criticized his party for being out of touch with the average American. He began by joking with the host, Katy Tur, about his rare appearance on the show.

"It’s a pleasure to be back," Fetterman began. "Hey, have me back. You know, I miss MSNBC. They stopped inviting me. I’m not sure why."

"No, that’s not true," Tur replied. "We always love having you. You can come whenever you want. Just give us a call."

"Yeah, absolutely," Fetterman said.

MSNBC, plain and simple, doesn't appreciate Fetterman's point of view.

Sen. Fetterman is an older breed of Democrat, one unwilling to wield the American people as pawns in some sort of political game. While the rest of his party views the 42 million Americans on SNAP as a tool to use against Republicans, Fetterman is simply concerned with making sure government employees get paid and everyone can feed their families. What is the rest of his party interested in? Sticking it to Republicans and especially President Trump. They are interested in victory at any and all costs.

Most importantly, Democrats are focused solely on seizing, keeping, and expanding their power, regardless of the cost to everyday Americans. That’s why progressives cheered the shutdown and are attacking Senator Schumer for failing to maintain his coalition. Extra Obamacare subsidies simply translate to expanding federal government control and influence over the American healthcare system. Healthcare has only gotten more unaffordable since the Affordable Care Act was passed. To today’s progressive Democrats, Americans are not citizens but pawns, tools to be moved and sacrificed in their quest for dominance. And that, unmistakably, is how tyranny develops.
