The White House South Lawn opened up Thursday, as President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump went out to greet trick-or-treaters and hand out candy.
A White House press release said that children and their parents were invited to visit the South Portico for trick-or-treat stations and festive fall decorations, including falling leaves and jack-o-lanterns.
In one clip from Thursday, President Trump recreated a viral moment by placing candy on top of a trick-or-treater’s head. During his first administration, he did the same thing with a child dressed as a Minion from Despicable Me. This year, the recipient appeared to be dressed as a giant marshmallow.
