Van Jones: Black People Should Be Afraid of White, Hillary Supporters

CNN commentator Van Jones, never one to shy from his opinions, provided another of his infamous hot takes on the network Friday. Everyone is talking about race at the moment because an African American man, George Floyd, was killed by police officers in Minneapolis last week. And the city is on fire with rioters and looters pillaging the city, claiming that Floyd was killed because of the color of his skin.

In the context of racial division in the country, Jones made a surprising statement.

"It’s not the racist person who's in the Ku Klux Klan that we have to worry about," he said. "It’s the white, liberal Hillary Clinton supporter walking her dog in Central Park" who suggests she doesn't see the color of your skin. But, once that individual sees a black man who she doesn't trust, she "weaponizes race like she had been trained by the Aryan nation."

Of course, Jones is referring to the "Karen" who was walking her dog in Central Park this week when she felt threatened by a black man who asked to put her dog on a leash. He filmed her outburst as she called the cops and instructed them to come and get "the African American man" who was threatening her. Because she identified his race multiple times, she was deemed a racist. Including, it seems, by Jones.

"A klans member could not have been better trained to pick up the phone and tell the police it's a black man, an African American man, come get him," he said.

No matter how liberals try to paint themselves as tolerant of all races and cultures, when caught in these situations, their true selves come out, Jones observed.

"Even the most liberal, well intentioned white person has a virus in his or her brain that can be activated in an instant," he claimed.

Townhall's Julio Rosas is currently covering the Minneapolis riots for us live on the scene. Hopefully the city will be spared several more days of violence.
