British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been moved out of the intensive care unit at London's St. Thomas hospital, suggesting his condition has improved. The prime minister was diagnosed with the coronavirus on March 26. His condition became more serious this week as he was moved to St. Thomas's, and then taken to the ICU on Monday.

Johnson "has been moved this evening from intensive care back to the ward, where he will receive close monitoring during the early phase of his recovery," according to 10 Downing Street.

Downing Street added the prime minister is in "extremely good spirits."

At Wednesday's White House coronavirus task force briefing, President Trump thanked the prime minister for always being such a great friend and partner to the U.S. He was elated to hear the news.
