Iran is threatening to get revenge on the United States for killing terror leader Qasam Soleimani. If the regime does retaliate, the Trump administration warned them that they will regret it.

Killing Soleimani last Thursday was a major military victory. As Secretary of State Mike Pompeo explained, the U.S. military had to strike because the Quds Force leader, who had orchestrated attacks on coalition bases in Iraq and the attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, was planning more attacks on Americans.

But Democrats criticized President Trump's action, asserting that he needed them to sign off on the strike.

"The Trump Admin has conducted strikes in Iraq targeting high-level Iranian military officials and killing Iranian Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani without an AUMF against Iran," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wrote on Twitter. "Further, this action was taken without the consultation of the Congress."

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who was a military lawyer for 33 years, refuted the Pelosi's declaration in an interview with Fox Business's Maria Bartiromo over the weekend. He told Democrats that Trump "does not need congressional authorization to defend troops in the field in harm’s way."

He also singled out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who tweeted that Trump's killing of Soleimani "risks the lives of millions of innocent people."

Here's how Graham responded.

"AOC doesn’t know anything about the law of armed conflict, obviously," Graham said. "Every commander in chief has the right to defend our people on the battlefield."

Especially since, again, Soleimani was planning additional attacks on us.

"In AOC’s world, I guess we're supposed to sit back and watch a bunch of Americans get killed," Graham finished. "We’re not the bad guys. The Iranians are the bad guys and if you don’t see that, you’ve missed a lot in the last 40 years."
