UPDATE (10:49 a.m. ET): Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz shares an update regarding where the shooting occurred, and shares a bit about the Pensacola community. According to the congressman, the shooting occurred at the schoolhouse right in the center of campus where the naval pilot students come to learn about naval aviation.

One additional fatality has been confirmed. Unknown number of injured people being transferred to local hospitals.
UPDATE: The shooter is dead. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office confirms the individual was shot and killed by deputies at the base.

Five people are currently being treated at the hospital following a shooting at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida, where the shooter opened fire around 7 a.m. on Friday. The base is currently locked down.

The Pensacola Naval Air Station employs more than 16,000 military personnel.
This is the second shooting at a naval base this week. On Wednesday, a U.S. sailor opened fire at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and wounded three civilian employees before killing himself.
