Democratic Representative on Impeachment: 'We Really Don't Have a Choice'

CNN host Jim Sciutto asked Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) if recent polling about the impeachment inquiry indicated to him that Democrats have failed to make their case for impeachment to the American people.

"Look, for us in the House and I think for most Democrats, we really don't have a choice," said Rep. Sciutto. "If this is not impeachable conduct, then nothing is. Nothing is."

If nothing is more impeachable than this, can we finally get the Democrats to give up on impeachment when this latest effort of theirs goes nowhere? Of course not. The Democrats plan to be hysterical about everything while Trump remains in office.

"This is an attempt to undermine the rule of law," Sciutto continued. "So what are we about in this country? Are we just gonna say, 'okay, we're gonna be like Russia and North Korea where, okay, we let the strongmen do what they want and we have no rule of law.'

Speaking of the rule of law, Attorney General William Barr beautify articulated how it's the Democrats, or "the Resistance," that is "engaged in the systemic shredding of norms and undermining the rule of law," during a recent speech before the Federalist Society. The attorney general pointed out that, through September of this year, Republicans in the Senate have been forced to invoke cloture on 236 of President Trump's nominees. During the same time under President Obama, the Senate invoked cloture only 17 times. And during Bush's first term, only 4 times.

Barr also pointed out that district courts have utilized the nationwide injunction as a way of undermining the duly elected president. District courts have issued over 40 nationwide injunctions since Trump became president. During Obama's first two years in office, only two nationwide injunctions were issued and both of those were immediately vacated by the ninth circuit court of appeals.

Democrats are now making the case for impeachment using what President Trump might hypothetically do sometime down the road if left in office. Concluding his interview on CNN, Rep. Lynch admitted, "I personally think there's a greater danger leaving this president in office than taking him out through the legal impeachment process. I actually believe that." So there you have it. Sure sounds like the Democrats know they failed to make their case for impeachment to the American people.
