CNN's Brian Stelter on Sunday swooned over Hunter Biden's new book, "Beautiful Things," which is scheduled to be released later this week.
"I'll tell you what. I've read a lot of memoirs. I've never read a memoir like this one," the CNN host said, holding up the book.
"... It is extraordinary! You know, you've heard about Hunter Biden over the years. You've heard all the tabloid coverage of Hunter Biden. You think you know his story," he explained. "We know right-wing media is obsessed with him, Fox News always targeting him and there are real questions to ask, including about that laptop that CBS is probing, that CBS asked Biden about in an interviewing today and again tomorrow."
Stelter called the book "breathtaking," especially when taking into account the number of times Hunter Biden "could have died" as a result of his addiction.
CNN White House Correspondent Kate Bennett agreed with Stelter, saying the "depth and scope" of Hunter's addiction and the "honesty" he used to describe his struggle with crack cocaine and alcohol is something most Americans can relate to. According to Bennett, the memoir shows that drug and alcohol addiction can be the "great equalizer" amongst Americans across the board.

"It's the one thing that really brought President Biden to his knees. This is something that's helpless for many, many American families," Bennett explained.
"That is the critical point," Stelter said.

Instead of pimping out Hunter's book, CNN hosts should be asking tough questions. In fact, they should have asked about his laptop, his connection to the Chinese Communist Party and how he benefited from "the Big Guy" being vice president at the time. Addiction is real. It's tragic. And it's something we need to talk more seriously about. That does not, however, remove any questions or concerns Americans have about the Bidens and their questionable business relationships overseas. They don't get a pass just because Hunter has/had an addiction problem.
