Gov. Hogan Slams NYC Mayor de Blasio for Blatant Lies About Coronavirus Response

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) on Sunday slammed New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for saying not enough is being done to combat the Wuhan coronavirus.

"I understand people out there are concerned about when is it going to look better. Just know that people all over the place are working as hard as they possibly can to fight this hidden enemy," Hogan explained. "And it's going to take all of us, not only local governments, the cities, like the mayor, the state governments, all the governors, the federal government."

According to Hogan, the Wuhan coronavirus impacts each and every person in the country, which is why the response needs to be coordinated on all levels of government.

"We don't know how long or how bad it's gonna be but it's going to continue until we get it stopped," the governor said. "We're just gonna keep fighting it 24-hours a day until we can get it done."

De Blasio completely disagreed with Hogan's assessment.

"It's not true that people everywhere are fighting with all they got because our military is being sidelined and the White House is in denial," de Blasio said. "It's just not true, governor. That's just not true."

"We got military all over our state doing all kinds of great things, like humanitarian missions, helping with hospitals–" Hogan retorted.

"You've got [the] National Guard. You do not have the American military," de Blasio said.

"–building new hospital beds," Hogan explained. "And your governor in New York is doing the same things so maybe you ought to talk to him and see."

De Blasio reiterated his previous point that not everyone is doing what they can to fight the virus.

The New York City mayor might want to talk to his governor, Andrew Cuomo... or even tune into Cuomo's press conferences. The governor praised President Donald Trump's handling of the situation, including allowing states to mobilize and handle testing themselves.

Cuomo also thanked the Trump administration for sending the Army Corp of Engineers to New York.

He even gave a "kudos" for the administration's continual contact with the state.

Cuomo said he can tell when someone is "on it" and when they're not. He praised President Trump and his team for "doing everything that they can" to help states and local governments combat the virus.
