Google and GoDaddy Force Racist Website to Find New Domain

The Daily Stormer, a Neo-Nazi website, has been kicked off the domain provider GoDaddy after the site published a post disparaging Heather Heyer, a victim of the Charlottesville riots.

GoDaddy gave the site 24 hours to switch to a different server.

Dan Race, spokesman of GoDaddy, wrote in an emailed statement, "Given their latest article comes on the immediate heels of a violent act, we believe this type of article could incite additional violence, which violates our terms of service."

The Daily Stormer post, insulting Heyer, called her useless, and drew attention to her childlessness.

The website switched to Google, who quickly forced them from its server. In a statement, Google wrote “We are canceling Daily Stormer’s registration with Google Domains for violating our terms of service.”

32-year-old Heather Heyer was killed after a man drove a car into the crowd of counter-protestors in Charlottesville. Twenty-year-old James Alex Fields, Jr., the convicted driver, was reportedly fixated with Nazism in high school, according to a teacher.

“She wanted the best for everyone, she stood up for equality,”  Marissa Blair, a friend of Heather Heyer, said in an interview.

After GoDaddy booted the racist website, Daily Stormer claimed it was hacked by Anonymous, who wrote on Twitter that it could not confirm one of its members hacked the site. Andrew Auernheimer, a contributor of the Daily Stormer, said the hacking story was a
"prank," according to the Washington Post.
