Mamdani's Assault on the Truth Behind Rape Stats

Just days after the Democrats in Maine were forced to oust one of their own from the state's U.S. Senate race, I would think Democrats would be a little more careful with their messaging about rape and sexual assaults. After all, they were the party of 'Believe All Women' and 'Me Too'—right up until both those movements were no longer politically expedient to them.

Yesterday, I wrote about how Zohran Mamdani tried to explain away the increase in rapes and sexual assaults in New York. Mamdani blamed it on the 'Rape Is Rape Act', which was signed into law by Gov. Kathy Hochul in 2024. Because that law broadened the definition of rape to include non-consensual anal, oral, and vaginal contact, Mamdani said, the numbers naturally would go up. He also said survivors were more willing to come forward.

That, of course, is a good thing.

But it turns out the communist running the Big Apple was lying. Again.

The NYPD's CompStat data from last week showed there was a 6.6 percent increase in rape compared to the same time last year, long after the 'Rape Is Rape Act' changed the definition.

Here's more:

Mamdani’s comment on the “expanded definition” of rape likely refers to New York’s Rape is Rape Act, which was signed into law by Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul in Jan. 2024 and went into effect in Sept. of that year. The law classifies rape as nonconsensual or forcibly compelled sexual intercourse, oral sexual conduct or anal sexual conduct after previously defining rape as only nonconsensual or forcibly compelled vaginal penetration by a penis.

However, NYPD’s latest CompStat data from last week saw a 6.6% increase in rape compared to the same time last year, after the definition was already changed.

Remember that Mamdani is one of those socialists who wants to abolish prisons, who thinks crime and violence are merely social constructs and not real.

Tell that to the women and men who are assaulted, raped, or murdered. Well, tell that to their families, because the murder victims are dead.

He's on his way to closing Rikers, which he will claim is his first win in abolishing prisons.

Nothing good comes of this and—unlike the Left's claims about climate change—the socialists' plan to abolish prisons and defund the police will, in fact, harm women the most. Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg already downgrades felonies to misdemeanors and routinely drops charges against criminals. That way, he can say crime is down even when it's not, because if it's not recorded, it didn't happen.

Sure, you may have gotten your teeth knocked out by that homeless guy on the corner. Yeah, your husband may have been pushed in front of his evening subway home, but if the authorities don't classify it as a crime, it wasn't a crime.

And that's how the socialists, who are keen on setting every criminal free into our communities, will pretend they made things 'safe.' They'll simply stop counting rapes as rapes. They'll stop counting homicides. They'll stop reporting on robberies. Police just won't show up if your car is stolen or your home is broken into.

If there's no record of a crime, crime is down, and socialism works.

Or something.

Like all of socialism, it's smoke and mirrors. Mamdani said his socialist plans fixed New York's budget deficit. He's not technically wrong, but that's only because he took money from Albany and put off a contribution to the city employees' retirement fund. That 'fixed' the problem much in the same way a bandage will fix the giant gash on your hand. For a short period of time.

How can single women, who vote for Democrats in droves, look at this and be okay with it? How can they decide that the party that elevates domestic abusers and rapists, who imports Islamists who see women as nothing but property, and who will put your safety and lives at risk to usher in their socialist utopia, keep voting for this?

It's like the cows rooting for Burger King.
