Do Democrats Think We're Stupid?

I understand that Democrats have a very low opinion of their voter base and of Americans in general, but they would do well to remember that the vast majority of us are not diehard Leftists who will blindly accept whatever drivel they happen to be selling on any particular day.

We have eyes, ears, brains, and Internet connections. To that end, we're painfully aware of the Democratic Party's unwillingness to meaningfully crack down on crime of any variety. Whether it's misdemeanors or felonies, Democrats haven't met a criminal for whom they didn't want to extract their twisted idea of "justice."

What has that led to? Countless stories of violent career criminals being arrested over and over again, only to be cut loose to harass, rob, assault, rape, and murder innocent Americans. Two weeks ago, a violent criminal with 131 prior arrests was apprehended — yet again — in New York after setting a man on fire on the city's subway system. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has a history of downgrading felony charges to misdemeanors, by the way. In Fairfax County, Virginia, police warned prosecutor Steve Descano's office multiple times about Abdul Jalloh, a violent illegal immigrant whom Descano's office repeatedly refused to prosecute for his myriad crimes. Just three months after one of those warnings, Jalloh stabbed Stephanie Minter to death at a bus stop. In North Carolina, then-Governor (and Democratic Senate candidate) Roy Cooper cut loose dozens of criminals, including Decarlos Brown, Jr., who had at least a dozen prior arrests before he stabbed a young woman to death on Charlotte's light rail system.

These are Democratic Party policies. Democrats believe our justice system is inherently racist and that we need "criminal justice reform," by which they mean they don't put criminals in prison at all. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and other Democrats insist jailing criminals doesn't solve crime, and Johnson called such a practice "unholy."

Which is why when Senator Mazie Hirono said we don't need to worry about noncitizens voting in our elections because we put people in jail for breaking the law, I laughed.

"And let's be very clear about something else. Non-citizen voting in federal elections is already illegal. It is a federal crime. If a non-citizen illegally votes in a federal election, they could be prosecuted and even senteced up to five years in prison. Who is going to commit this kind of fraud knowing they could be in prison for five years?" she said.

Then I realized she was serious, and I laughed even harder.

Last week, an illegal immigrant from Mauritania was arrested and charged with voting in multiple federal elections. An illegal immigrant in Boston used a stolen identity to collect almost half a million dollars in federal benefits and vote. A Canadian citizen was indicted in North Carolina for voting in 2022 and 2024. Even citizens commit voter fraud. A 68-year-old Michigan man was charged with voting absentee and in-person.

Even Politico admitted that non-citizens are voting in our elections, though it snarkily asked why Washington was so concerned, since it was "rare."

The reason they do it is that they believe they won't get caught and, if they do, that Democrats won't prosecute them when and if they are. Voter fraud is, obviously, a serious crime that undermines democracy. It is, however, non-violent. True, it disenfranchises legal voters, but no one is physically hurt or killed. Democrats have made it very clear that they don't want consequences for those who do commit violent acts; why in the world would they want consequences for a non-violent crime that benefits them politically?

And I know it does, because if voting fraud tipped elections to the favor of Republicans, Democrats would have already passed some of the most draconian election laws in the world to put a stop to it.

That's why it's absurdly comical for Hirono and the Democrats to play the "voter fraud is already illegal" card with us. Murder is illegal. Robbery is illegal. Rape is illegal. Yet time and again, Democrats cut those criminals loose with few, if any, consequences.

The majority of us look at that pattern and realize there will also be few, if any, consequences for illegal voting. Hirono may think we'll buy her easily-debunked talking points, but she'll be shocked to learn the rest of us aren't as stupid as she is.
