There was a time when Democrats and the Left pretended to be the party of average, middle- and working-class Americans. Those days are long gone as the Democrats have transformed into a party of wealthy celebrities and radical Leftism. There's no radical position they won't embrace, from defending the oppressive Iranian regime to pushing trans activism, and if President Trump is in favor of something, they'll oppose it.
The vast majority of Americans do not have college degrees, but the Left treats that piece of paper like some proof of moral and intellectual superiority. There was a time when it was, but with colleges and universities having evolved into indoctrination centers instead of institutions of higher learning, that prestige has lost all meaning.
That doesn't stop the Left from looking down its nose at those who don't have degrees, though. Yesterday, President Trump announced he was replacing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem with Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin.
Mullin, who has been in the Senate since 2023 and was a Congressman from 2013 until 2022. The people of Oklahoma were happy to send him to Congress for more than a decade, but for the Left all that matters is that Mullin doesn't have a degree.

To that I say, "So what?" Roughly 63 percent of Americans don't have a bachelor's degree and many of those that do leave something to be desired. It also tells me that if this is the best they've got on Mullin, he's the right choice to lead DHS.
I seem to recall how, back in December, Mullin took Senator Bernie Sanders — who has a bachelor's in political science — to task for putting Sanders' partisan politics ahead of kids with cancer. That shows Mullin has not only smarts, but the moral clarity Sanders so clearly lacks.
Mullin did attend college, but left when his father fell ill and needed someone to run the family's plumbing business. That takes smarts and skills a degree cannot confer. Of course, most Democrats couldn't run a profitable lemonade stand, so the concept of running a successful business is lost on them.
But more than that, what has a cadre of degree-wielding politicians gotten us? They've put us trillions of dollars into debt. They've let criminal illegal aliens cross our border unabated, weakened our criminal justice system, developed the concepts of DEI, "anti-racism," "microaggressions", and other woke clap-trap, and embraced the notion that gender is fluid and some women can have penises. Those are ideologies that only a privileged, over-educated elite class can hold.
I've never heard my plumber tell me that some men can get pregnant, but they've been able to get my water running when the plumbing broke. That's because they live in the real world, where real work requires getting their hands dirty and providing a service people want and need.
I also seem to recall how the Democrats have repeatedly demanded student loan forgiveness for the minority of Americans who made the idiotic choice to take out tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of dollars in student loans to study feminism or some other useless field that was a direct line to working the Starbucks counter. If those degree holders are smarter than Mullin, why are they saddled with student loan debt and he isn't?
The Left loves to talk about "representation" and having a Congress that reflects society. I'd frankly love it if 63 percent of Congress were composed of people without college degrees.
If a college diploma is supposed to guarantee wisdom, Washington should be the smartest place on Earth. Instead, it’s given us trillions in debt, open borders, and a political class convinced that men can get pregnant. Maybe the problem isn’t that Congress has too few degrees. Maybe it’s that it has too many politicians who mistake academic credentials for actual intelligence.
And while the Left may sneer at someone like Mullin for lacking a diploma, millions of Americans will recognize something far more valuable: competence, work ethic, and common sense. Those are qualities that can’t be taught in a lecture hall, no matter how many DEI seminars a student sits through. If Democrats truly believe Congress should reflect the people it governs, then they should welcome a Cabinet member who reflects the majority of Americans — people who built lives and careers without a framed piece of paper telling them what and how they’re allowed to think.
