The Deplorable Treatment of Afghan Women Is a Glimpse Into Our Future

If you listen closely, you can hear the sounds of Leftists outraged by the increasingly deplorable conditions under which women in Afghanistan are currently living.

Just kidding.

If you hear anything, it's crickets, because nearly five years after the Biden administration botched our withdrawal from the country, things for women have only gotten worse. At the beginning of February, I told you how the Taliban continues to add restrictions on women and girls in the nation, including denying them access to healthcare because the Taliban won't allow women to become doctors (because they can't get an education or work) and won't allow women to see male doctors.

Now that backwards cult has legalized domestic abuse against women.

Here's more:

It appears to create a caste system in which offenders are categorised as either 'free' or 'a slave,' with women being placed on the same level as slaves.

Disturbing clauses state that 'slave masters,' or husbands, can give out physical punishments to their wives or subordinates.

Meanwhile, if a religious scholar or member of the elite commit an offense, the consequence is limited to advice or a court summons.

For the middle class the same crime can result in imprisonment, while the 'lower class'  faces both corporal punishment and imprisonment.

The code, called De Mahakumu Jazaai Osulnama has been distributed across courts in the country, prompting waves of outrage online from activists outside Afghanistan.

Where are the feminists screaming about the patriarchy?

Where are Rep. Tim McBride and Hillary Clinton, who just talked about the "fundamental rights of women" in Munich this week? I hear nothing from either of them.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I would think the ability to have a job, get an education, leave your house, and see a doctor are "fundamental rights" that women should have (note I didn't say the government should pay for them, just that women should be able to access them unimpeded — I'm not a Democrat).

Just this week, a Muslim activist in NYC said Islam was coming to the city on the issue of dogs. What followed that insane statement was not blowback against an ideology wholly at odds with American culture, but an attack on the critics who said they weren't going to give up their dogs to appease Third World invaders. We were called "racist" and "bigoted" as well as "xenophobic" and "anti-Muslim."

In the U.K., Muslim grooming gangs have been largely given a pass by law enforcement and government officials, because they believe it's racist to expect Muslims to conform to Western culture and not assault women. But then I can't help but recall how, last summer, Zohran Mamdani, who was then just a candidate, said he didn't want the NYPD to respond to domestic violence calls. While he said it as part of a larger police reformation, which in and of itself would spell disaster, some couldn't help but notice the ties to Islam. Now Afghanistan has codified domestic abuse.

Women deserve to live in safety, and that includes from a sociopolitical movement — Islam — that hides behind the mask of religion to impose its will on people. We see, time and again, what it looks like when "Islam comes" to our cities, our states, our countries. Just 25 years ago, Islam came to NYC and killed 3,000 people.

In many ways, I feel like I'm standing in a noisy room screaming that there's a fire and no one is listening. Then those who do call me a xenophobe for noticing the fire in the first place. But the signs are there, the creep is there, and what happens in Afghanistan today will be the thing Democrats defend tomorrow. I have no reason to believe they won't sell other women and me out to Islam. All the Islamists have to do is cry "racism" and "Islamophobia," and the Left will fold like a cheap shirt. They couldn't bring themselves to defend our dogs, and women rank only slightly higher than Fido in the Islamic hierarchy.
