Leftist celebrities have been coping with the second Trump administration about as well as you would have expected them to. Some of them, like Rosie O'Donnell, George Clooney, and Ellen DeGeneres, have fled America for the authoritarian arms of Europe. Others have stayed, content to spend their time whining about President Trump, ICE, and Republicans.
Sometimes, the whining is just plain stupid, bordering on entertaining, like when Mark Ruffalo said that ABC suspending Jimmy Kimmel was just like living under the Taliban. Other times, it's insulting and disgusting, like Stephen Colbert saying ICE is worse than the Nazis, who systematically killed six million Jews and countless others.
But there are also some celebrities and media personalities who have been pretty darned vocal about the next Democratic administration exacting revenge on President Trump, his administration, and even his voters. This includes Mehdi Hasan, who will only vote for the Democrat who vows to weaponize the federal government against Elon Musk and Republicans.
Two other celebrities are calling for similar consequences for us, including actress Molly Ringwald and actor Giancarlo Esposito.
Ringwald is saying that Trump voters will be found guilty of treason once President Trump leaves office.

“There’s something horrible going on in our country right now — we had one of the greatest countries in the world — but right now, this is a fascist government," Ringwald said.
“It’s not becoming a fascist government, it is a fascist government,” Ringwald added. “ICE is brutalizing people.”
“If you look at what happened in France,” Ringwald said, “they were taken over by the Nazis."
“Eventually, they got their country back, and those people who collaborated were found to be criminals,” she continued, adding, “That is what’s going to happen. You should not support what is going on."
“You are going to be seen as a collaborationist," she warned Trump supporters.
How the government plans to try 77 million of us for treason, Ringwald didn't elaborate.
Actor Giancarlo Esposito was more blunt, calling for an armed and deadly revolution.

“We have to stand up to it. They can’t take us all down. If the whole world showed up on Putin’s doorstep or the Iranians’ doorstep or in Washington, they’d kill 500 or 50 million or however many, but the rest of us would survive with a new world," he said during an interview with Variety. “Some very rich old white men are exerting their power to suppress our own people, thus creating a feeling of civil war in the streets, preparing the haters to hate, teaching them how to shoot,” Esposito said. “This is all a preparation for a very insidious problem that’s happening in our world. And for me, I have to speak out. We will not be ICE’d out. This is not going to happen.”
Anyone who thinks Esposito or any other celebrity will show up in Washington and risk being killed is kidding themselves. Leftist celebrities would be safe at home, while others do the dirty work.
But how do celebrities, and even some Democratic politicians, think such revenge fantasies will play with the voting public? Most people would be put off at the thought of rounding up 77 million Americans and charging them with treason.
