The Left Always Eats Its Own

Earlier today, I told you about Greta Thunberg getting arrested at a protest in support of Palestine Action, a group classified as terrorists under Section 13 of the U.K.'s Terrorism Act 2000. I was only vaguely aware of Palestine Action when I saw the climate activist turned anti-Israel tool was taken into police custody, so I did some digging.

It turns out eight members of Palestine Action are being held by the U.K. government for their alleged involvement in two crimes: one involving the break-in at an Israeli defense firm last year and the other for an alleged breach of a military airbase in central England, where they damaged two aircraft as part of an anti-Israel protest. Several of the group have now been on a hunger strike since early November.

Families are begging the government to intervene on behalf of the prisoners. At least one has been hospitalized, and another, according to his brother, is in ill health because he hasn't eaten in over a month. Personally, if you want to starve yourself to death as a symbol of solidarity with people who would chop your infidel heads off, be my guest. Let Darwin rule the day on that one.

But that's a topic for another column.

One of the hunger strikers, Amu Gib, was taken to the hospital because of the hunger strike. Turns out Amu Gib's real name is actually Amy Gardiner-Gibson, and she is gender-nonbinary and uses "they/them" pronouns. I don't play that game of course, but I will point out this: isn't using an Arabic-sounding name cultural appropriation? Isn't that verboten under the Left's own rules?

"I appreciate the correction but it should be mentioned that they are named as Amu in every @Prisoners4Pal communication so I would ask that you check there first, Amu is not the only person who is misnamed and wrongly gendered by the mainstream media, MSM isn't a reliable source," Stats for Lefties replied.

Pardon me while I laugh. The mainstream media bends over backwards to appease these Leftists loons and it's still not good enough for them.

Jones continued to grovel.

"I'm sorry I wasn't aware, and I corrected when I was. My intentions, obviously, were to raise awareness of the plight of the hunger strikers," he wrote. "I think intentional misgendering is hideous. The approach you're increasingly taking towards good intentions is a shame, though!"

Mark your calendars, cause I will likely never say this again: Jones isn't wrong.

But that apology still wasn't enough.

"Mate, I just asked you politely to use their preferred pronouns and check out the P4P statements," Stats for Lefties said.

"I personally think most people would interpret your approach as being a response to wilful misgendering," Jones replied. "I don't care about myself, like whatever! I don't think your approach drives people away from our cause for no reason, and you didn't operate like that previously."

He continued, "I was just saying, my post was seeking to raise awareness about the hunger strikers, including Amu Gib. I wasn't seeking to misgender any of the hunger strikers I was seeking to centre. From my experience, trans people are justifiably angry at intentional misgendering."

Another X user with a trans flag in the bio piled on, "You don't get a gold star for your good intentions when you misgender someone and demonstrate that you hadn't done basic research like checking the P4P statements. A little humanity wouldn't kill you, Owen — you got basic information wrong and were politely corrected."

This is who the Left always was, is, and always will be. The ever-changing rules of the game of Calvinball that the Left plays mean you're always going to offend at least one of them.

Which is why I save myself a lot of headaches by remaining grounded in reality. "Amu Gib" is Amy Gardiner-Gibson, and she's a woman.

And I won't apologize for that, because I refuse to feed this insanity.

But I will make popcorn and watch the Left eat their own.
