ABC News Claims President Trump Never Condemned Violence Against Democratic Lawmakers

President Trump has spoken about TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk's assassination, calling Kirk "great and even legendary" and condemning the violence that led to Kirk's death.

ABC News, however, was not happy with President Trump's reaction to the death of Kirk. Instead, they worked to make the story about Democrats and a way to attack the president by lying about him, claiming Trump never acknowledged violence against Democrats.

Here's more from ABC News:

While President Donald Trump has called for an end to political violence following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, he did not recognize or acknowledge the recent threats, violent attacks and killings of Democrats.

During his remarks Wednesday night, hours after Kirk, a conservative influencer who worked closely with Trump and his family, was killed, Trump posted a video condemning the shooting and other political violence and brought up some recent examples.

"From the attack on my life in Butler Pennsylvania last year, which killed a husband and father, to the attacks on ICE agents, to the vicious murder of a health care executive in the streets of New York, to the shooting of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and three others, radical Left political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives," he said.

As the story continues, ABC News admits that President Trump did discuss the shooting of Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, as well as state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. The Hortmans were killed, along with their family dog. The Hoffmans were seriously wounded but survived.

On June 14, President Trump called the Minnesota shootings "horrific" and "will not be tolerated in the United States of America" before vowing that the alleged shooter, Vance Luther Boelter, was a former Walz appointee and not a conservative. ABC News also lamented the fact that President Trump didn't call Tim Walz after the shooting, although Vice President JD Vance did.

That wasn't the first time President Trump condemned violence towards Democrats. In 2018, he called pipe bomb threats made against Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, "despicable" and said that a "major investigation" would be underway.

When a pro-Palestinian activist burned the Pennsylvania governor's mansion back in April, President Trump said, "Certainly a thing like that can not be allowed to happen," and Vice President Vance called it "disgusting."

Unlike Democrats, Trump didn't pin the arson attack on any particular ideology, instead calling the suspect a "whacko."

In all instances, President Trump focused on the victims of the crime and held the suspects accountable. He didn't use those crimes as an opportunity to "both sides" the issue.

Compare those reactions to the way Democrats and the media have responded to Kirk's assassination, placing blame for the crime on "Republican misinformation" and President Trump's "rhetoric."

What ABC News is actually mad about is that the President isn't turning Democrats into the victims today.
