Donald Trump Owns the Democratic Party

Oppositional defiant disorder is a child behavioral pattern classified by "angry, irritable, argumentative, defiant, or vindictive behaviors towards authority figures."

Doesn't that sound like today's Democratic Party? They are the country's petulant children, afflicted with oppositional defiant disorder.

It doesn't matter what President Trump says or does. The Democratic Party will, on reflex, oppose it.

The Trump administration knows this, and they know how to exploit it.

One could also argue that their only guiding principle is: "Orange Man Bad."

Democrats are so blinded by their hatred of President Trump that they have repeatedly taken the 20% side on every major issue as of late, which is reflected in the abysmal approval ratings the Democratic Party is currently enjoying (okay, they're probably not enjoying it, but we sure are).

President Trump's push to deport illegal immigrants and strengthen our border security has driven Democrats to not only sing the praises of people who have broken -- at a minimum -- our federal immigration laws, but also people who have engaged in violence against Americans, like the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang from Venezuela. They have taken over entire apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, harassing residents and bringing crime to the area. The mayor of Aurora, Mike Coffman, and Governor Jared Polis dismissed the problem. ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz said the incidents were just limited to a "handful" of apartments, a remark that made Vice President Vance ask Raddatz if she even heard herself. Chris Van Hollen flew to El Salvador to have margaritas with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the illegal immigrant ordered deported years ago.

The administration also made protecting women and girls a priority by working to end the "inclusion" of "trans athletes" in women's and girls' sports. Instead of praising President Trump for it, the so-called "Party of Women" decided instead to double down on insisting that "trans identifying" men make the best women. In Wisconsin, Governor Tony Evers pushed to change the word "mother" to "inseminated persons" in state documents. Janet Mills in Maine vowed to fight back against the exclusion of boys from girls' sports, calling the girls who spoke out against her policies a "diversionary" tactic and dismissing their concerns outright. Minnesota labeled itself a safe state for trans people and promised to help "trans kids" get puberty blockers and other "gender-affirming care" regardless of what the science says about the risks and harm done by such treatment. This led to Robert (Robin) Westman, who was trans, committing a mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church and school in Minneapolis, killing two children and injuring more than a dozen.

In response to that horrific crime, Democrats ran to defend the trans community and attack both prayer and guns. California Governor Gavin Newsom, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, Michael Steele and Jen Psaki all mocked the concept of prayer and Democrats demanded radical gun control akin to the mass confiscation Australia enacted in the 1990s.

Contrast their response to that shooting with the ongoing crime problems in blue cities. When President Trump moved to clean up the streets of D.C., Democrats protested in favor of crime. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker -- fresh off 54 shootings and seven deaths over the Labor Day weekend -- said big cities simply have crime. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson called arresting criminals "unholy" and racist. In North Carolina, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee was stabbed on Charlotte's light rail. Her attacker was a guy who'd been arrested over a dozen times prior to that fatal encounter. Rather than admit her administration failed, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles thanked outlets that didn't share the gutwrenching video of the attack and insisted we "can't arrest our way out of crime." On that, she's right. The suspect, Decarlos Brown, Jr., was arrested fourteen times and released. The failure came in not keeping Brown behind bars for a long time.

All of this points back to that one guiding principle of the Democratic Party: they must oppose President Trump at every turn. We're at the point where President Trump could announce a cure for cancer tomorrow, and the Democrats would drag tearful oncologists before Congress to testify how President Trump ruined their careers, and privileged White liberals would march with astroturfed signs touting the goodness of osteosarcoma.

The problem for Democrats is that none of their resistance virtue signaling resonates with voters. And with the midterms fast approaching, they will continue to lose until they mature and outgrow their defiance for the sake of resisting President Trump.
