Saturday afternoon, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz attended a football game between Texas and Ohio State. The fateful decision to show up to a football game would culminate in an all-out brawl on social media.
As Sean Davis on the Blaze noted, Cruz was widely booed when he conducted a media appearance by the hyper-liberal Austin crowd. Some people noted the demographics of the crowd appeared to be uncharacteristically foreign.

And then I guess the Texas GOP establishment…
That’s what initially brought this otherwise innocuous football game into the political spotlight. The next moment occurred after the Longhorns mounted an impressive fourth quarter comeback over the Buckeyes to secure a win.
Republican candidate for the Texas Railroad Commission Bo French noted that the crowd celebrating the victory was once again overwhelmingly foreign.

Establishment Republicans, most notably the soon-to-be former Senator from Texas John Cornyn leaped at the chance to condemn French for the post citing alleged racism. Senate candidate Ken Paxton and Gov. Greg Abbott, however, weren’t so willing.
Perhaps it’s because they (rightfully) see French’s statement as a warning about what unfettered mass immigration produces. Perhaps it’s because they simply refuse to bend the knee to the woke mob in a move that benefits no one other than their adversaries. Perhaps they, like me, understand that no amount of intra-party bashing will make the left like them.
It’s almost as if we’ve returned to the “mean tweets” era of 2016-2020 with President Donald Trump. There’s a rush to condemn anything posted by politicians and influencers to the right of the establishment. No such condemnations are delivered for radical leftists, however. The few times that these people do move to condemn leftists, it’s generally the weakest response that they can offer. They have a burning desire to save their sharpest critiques for those to their ideological right.
To abridge a quote from our great Vice President JD Vance, “Trump won, we don’t have to do this anymore.”
Sadly, our establishment hacks will never learn that lesson.
