Immigration Experts: This Is the 'Only Winning Strategy' for Defeating the DNC's Plan to Abolish ICE

The immigration policy think tank NumbersUSA has released “the only winning strategy” in response to the DNC’s proposal to abolish ICE and release detained illegal aliens: mandatory E-Verify.

A credible enforcement system would start with workplace verification and remove the economic incentives to remain in the country illegally.

“Abolishing ICE would be a radical step toward open borders. Tackling the border crisis with ICE alone is an unsustainable strategy. But these aren’t the only two options,” the group said. “The entire burden of the border crisis cannot be placed on the shoulders of the men and women of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. We have to take the illegal jobs away to encourage more people to return home on their own.”

“A credible enforcement system would start with workplace verification and remove the economic incentives to remain in the country illegally,” NumbersUSA continued. “The reality is that most members of Congress aren’t committed to cracking down on illegal hiring.”

NumbersUSA says that only 60 members of Congress have moved to co-sponsor bills that would bring mandatory work authorization verification into being. A substantial number of those will not be returning to Congress next cycle.

Trump administration officials warn that the abolition of ICE would result in a crime surge. Border Czar Tom Homan told Fox News last week that nearly 70 percent of the illegal aliens detained by ICE have criminal backgrounds.
