A massive donation drive is underway for Lindsey Clancy, the woman accused of murdering her three children while her husband was taking a trip to the store. At present, her fans have pooled together nearly $750,000 for her parents to fund their support of their daughter.

Clancy’s supporters claim that she shouldn’t face retribution for strangling her three children, all of whom were under five, because she suffered from depression and other mental illnesses. They claim that she should be giving mental healthcare. They’re aiming to give her parents $2 million to show how much this cause means to them.
It’s a similar motivation that drove some of the defense of high profile cases like Karmelo Anthony or illegal aliens who inevitably commit heinous crimes: suicidal empathy.
Liberals love to support criminals and other deranged lunatics who harm and kill the innocent. They think that crime is a result of systemic problems, “socio-economic factors,” or whatever lame excuse that they can concoct to shift the blame away from those who actually commit crimes.
They think that tough-on-crime policies are far worse than loosing evil onto the streets of our cities and into our communities. They want to defund the police who protect our communities. They want to abolish prisons and “reform” criminal justice by ending cash bail. They also want to disarm you so that you are incapable of defending yourself from the criminals that they enable.
The end result of the progressive movement’s crime pet-projects is that you and your family are simply in more danger. They glorify and make martyrs out of the worst offenders in our society. Clancy is just the latest iteration of that phenomenon.
Instead of blaming the person who murdered her own children, her supporters claim that she was let down by those who were supposed to support her. She is not accountable for the act of strangling her own flesh and blood to death.
A loving mother does not murder her children, but apparently that’s a hot take in 2026.
