There’s a button that’s stuck on the corkboard calendar behind my desk. It’s a quote from G.K. Chesterton: “The test of democracy is not whether the people vote, but whether the people rule.”
And, being a constitutional republic, we’re going to put that theory to the test with a Democrat majority in Congress. It’s going to be easy to black pill, to want to give up, but I’m here to tell you we can’t, and I won’t.
The Democrats have made their agenda for the next two years crystal clear: lawfare against President Trump, his administration, and even his supporters like me. Part of the reason why I always laugh when someone tells me my boyfriend dictates to me how I vote is because I’m a contrarian.
And if I’m not going to listen to the most important person in my life when it comes to who to vote for, I’m sure as hell not going to listen to Democrats in D.C. who hate me.
You shouldn’t, either.
Instead of throwing in the towel on this, we need to lick our wounds and prepare to fight back. Use the courts, red states, and our own God-given rights to show them what real resistance to their brand of tyranny looks like.
As Dennis Prager said, all the socialists do is destroy.

We build. We save. We preserve. And — just like in the 20th century — we will win and beat the socialists again.
And I want to point out this: how do Democrats think this ends for them? 50 million Americans voted for President Trump in 2024. Tens of millions of us voted for Republicans in the midterms. As much as they may hate us, we’re part of the nation.
On top of that, there are Democrats and independents who will look at the wholesale lawfare of the next two years and be turned off by it. Democrats will do nothing on affordability. Quite the contrary; they’ll try to pass legislation that will make our food prices, our housing prices, our gas prices skyrocket.
They’ll try to abolish ICE and open the borders.
They’ll try to enact the “transgender bill of rights” and other far-left extremist agenda items. Thankfully, President Trump will veto their insanity.
Meanwhile, we’ll see that their campaign promises were empty, all political grandstanding so they could get back in control.
The Biden years were marked by inflation, open borders chaos, and lawfare. But the 2027-2029 Democrats would be that on steroids. What do they think voters will do in 2028? It’ll be the same thing we did in 2024: we will reject them again for the Republicans.
I will keep doing my good work here at Townhall, and I encourage all of you to stick with us. When we unite, we win. And we can win again. This was a setback, not our final destination.
And remember what the late, great Charlie Kirk said about this: “Whatever happens, we’ll keep fighting."
Reminiscing.

I plan to keep fighting, and I’ll do it along with you, dear readers. So chin up. Tomorrow is another day, and we will fight, fight, fight.
