As a woman, I take a very keen interest in the rise of Islam in the West. Why? Well, despite what Democrats and the Left will tell us, women do not fare well under Islam. We have no human rights, no ability to work outside the home, and are denied access to schooling and even medical care.

In Gaza, women are married off for food or forced to marry their rapists. In the U.K., British girls were raped, assaulted, groomed, and sex trafficked by Islamists while authorities turned a blind eye and at least one social worker forced a teen to marry her abuser. Young girls undergo unsterile, painful genital mutilation surgeries that remove their external genitalia and restrict their vaginal opening. That has the one-two punch of denying women sexual pleasure and making intercourse more pleasurable for men. It also puts them at risk for infection and, when they do get pregnant, risk of bleeding and other complications during labor and delivery.

Then again, women are treated like property under Islam, so if a girl dies giving birth, her husband moves on to the nearest available 9-year-old to begin the sick process all over again, much in the same way we replace a worn-out pair of shoes. I understand why the Left doesn't really object to that last henious practice; they do the same thing here in the name of "trans" ideology.

But as someone who grew up listening to feminists tell her that the patriarchy was a threat to her freedoms — I even had a friend in high school who swore that Republicans like George W. Bush were going to make it illegal for me to go to college — it's incredible to watch these same women hand our freedoms over to the actual patriarchy, first the mentally ill men who say they're women, and then to the Islamists.

In the U.K., authorities are handing women who arrive in the nation hijabs.

First, it's amazing there are any women migrating to England. Most of the migrants are military-aged men who will eventually turn Great Britain into Londonstan. But setting that aside for a moment, imagine you're a woman who genuinely wanted to flee Islam, including its oppressive subjugation of women. The hijab is a symbol of that oppression. Women can, and have, died for removing it.

But instead of being able to enjoy the same rights as women in the U.K., the authorities hand you a symbol of that oppression instead. A few months ago, I predicted that the U.K. will evntually make the hijab compulsory for all women, even as they hand out pamphlets to migrant men telling them, "Yes, women in the U.K. have rights and are human beings. Don't rape them."

Eventually, those pamphlets will be reworked and given to British women and girls, telling them how to avoid offending their new Islamist overlords.

I hope I'm proven wrong on that, but I don't think I will be.

A woman who live under Sharia law explained what it was like for her and her fellow women and girls.

At nine years old, she was told she's ready to be a mother. Girls were told they'd burn in hell if their hair showed or if they spoke to other boys. People are starved during Ramadan, even pregnant women.

"I was twice arrested by the morality police before the age of 16 for wearing open-toed sandals and painted toenails," she said. "They took me to the station and I had to sign a bunch of paperwork ... basically saying that if this happens agian, the consequences are going to be a lot worse."

For Democrats, letting women be beating, oppressed, and subjugated is better than being perceived as "racist" or "Islamophobic." A string of Democrat women including Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and even Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker have donned this symbol of Islamic patriarchy in the name of "tolerance."

Pardon me while I puke.

The Left loves to say that this is no different than the habits worn by nuns. It is. I attended a college run by the School Sisters of St. Francis. Up until the late 1960s/early 1970s, they wore traditional nun garb. That went away in favor of contemporary street clothing. By the time I was in college, none of them wore the habit.

The Vatican didn't excommunicate them. They weren't arrested by Catholic morality police. They weren't beaten and jailed. Nor was any nun who chose to remove the habit, whether as part of a shift in her order or because she left the sisterhood entirely.

Therein lies the difference.

But I digress.

Once again, I am the supposed right-winger with internalized misogyny who is reading the tea leaves and seeing exactly where this leads for women like me: subjugation under Islam.

The feminists are silent. The Democrats are donning hijabs. And in the U.K., they're handing those hijabs out to migrant women arriving in what is supposed to be a free, Western nation.

What this means is there's no escape for women under Islam. And the only way to avoid that awful fate befalling us is to not let that fetid ideology take root here in the first place.
