President Trump met with Chinese President Xi Jinping for a major state visit last week. President Trump said the meetings were "very productive."
"Tremendous things will be happening," the President wrote on Truth Social. U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue also told CNBC that President Trump warned Xi that any help given to Iran in the war is unacceptable. First Lady Melania Trump hosted a state dinner attended by Elon Musk, NVIDIA's Jensen Huang, Jeff Bezos, OpenAI's Sam Altman and Mark Zuckerberg.
This is what a president is supposed to do: diplomacy. Statecraft.
But for Democrats, it's never good enough. Their official X account attacked the President (again) for meeting with Xi.

We'll start with a story I (and others) wrote about in 2023. The streets of San Francisco are, as we all know, riddled with homeless drug users, rife with crime, and literally full of human excrement. There's an app to warn people about it. But when the Chinese were in town for the APEC meeting between ... Xi Jinping and then-President Joe Biden:
The typical drug addicts & homeless who wander the city like zombies have disappeared as 20,000 people are expected to visit the San Francisco thanks to the APEC summit.
The New York Post says sources have told them that the homeless are being "herded" out to other areas of the city.
"They started clearing the tents earlier this week and there is definitely a lot more police presence," said one resident.
The resident also explained that the city appeared to have the capability to do this all along but they refused.
"They’ve cleared out the tents that were near the Moscone Center on Howard Street, which tells me the city had the capability to do this all along... We need is a permanent solution."
Another resident said: "They are just essentially herding the problem around but offering no long-term solutions."
"I don’t know if these tents will be in physical view during APEC, but it will be virtually impossible to eliminate all of that."
Newsom himself admitted that's the only reason he did it, too.
"Folks say, 'Oh they're just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming into town.' That's true," Newsom said. "Because it's true. But it's also true for months and months and months, prior to APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), we've been having different conversations."
The Chinese saw through this, of course.
Some Chinese netizens also joked that the U.S. media tend to hype China's efforts to improve a city's environment before a big event. "In China, we already have clean and safe cities. So what we do is a little bit of cleanup. But the U.S. has pulled out all of its strength; not only did it remove the homeless, but it also covered graffiti and cleaned the rubbish-covered road. I thought they did not care," said a Sina Weibo netizen.
It's particularly galling for the Democrats to pretend to care about free journalism. Especially with Gavin Newsom chomping at the bit to be our next president.

This is authoritarianism in action.
We can end his unchecked power when we take back Congress this November. VOTE.
Not only have Democrats wanted to remove Fox News from the press pool and made censoring critics, conservatives, and others a major part of their political platform, but Newsom himself signed Assembly Bill 2624 (AB 2624), which criminalizes independent journalism in the state. All to protect fraudsters, the Democrats' real constituency, from being exposed.
With Democrats, every accusation is a confession.
